Seats.io has different chart types, each tailored to be suitable for different venue types. The question of which you should use depends on the seating chart you want to create.
Simple charts
Simple charts are best suited to smaller venues - fewer than 1000 seats is a good rule of thumb to use for this.
β
Small theatres, comedy clubs, or similar venues work very well with this chart type.
Charts with sections and floors
Charts with sections and floors can represent venues with a lot more complexity. Seats can be placed on different floors, and spread over sections, which can be thought of as sub-charts within the larger chart.
β
Large theatres and stadiums are both examples of venues that benefit from having sections, and if needed, floors.
Charts with zones
A zone is a group of sections, and each zone can have its own focal point (which is used to determine best available seats). Zones are useful for even bigger venues, where you typically have multiple "stands" or "sub-venues", and where people are facing different directions, depending on where they are.
β
A good example is a race track, where you have multiple stands along the track. Unlike in a stadium or theatre, in which everyone is looking at the same thing, a race track has multiple points of interest. Some people are watching the finish line, while others are elsewhere, watching a specific turn for instance.
